I like long term observing programs. Both for visual observing and for CCD differential photometry. This is the best way how to contribute to the science with modest equipment. Of course different thing are the transients like nova and dwarf nova outbursts.
All time series observations with CCD can be found in the Observer log on the web server of the variable stars and exoplanets section of Czech Astronomical Society.
Visual observations and point per night type CCD observations can be found on the same server in the Medúza section.
