PEP photometry

Photoelectric photometry

The first detector on the 1 meter VNT telescope was 2 channel photoelectric photometer of unique construction. It was produced in Astronomical Observatory of Odessa National University like the telescope itself. From the point of view of the observer it was amazing experience to control the instrument. Unfortunately the sensitivity of the detector turned out to by much less then CCD detector. The idea was to make fast photometry for asteroseismological studies. There were some results like that on the figure below. Then the photometer was replaced by CCD camera. Few years after there was other promising observing program for the photometer. Artificial satellites on geostationary orbit showing flares during opposition. Again very interesting to manage the observation but no scientific result.
